After 2 years of my marriage, I got pregnant with my first kid. Initial stages of pregnancy were fine. I had to be very careful in the postures when I am lying. for ex: I was asked to lie on the left hand side of the body, as this will help a smooth flow of blood to the fetus. All was fine until my seventh month, when I started developing fluctuations in the Blood Pressure. It was not a good sign as some swellings in my legs and hand accompanied it. I was put on medication to control the BP and also on a strict diet.
However, the tiny kicks of my baby and watching the whole belly moving as if he was rolling inside gave a very fresh energy to me throughout. All these times, I also did small exercises which included squatting. At times, I was haunted by the thought of the labor pain, but then again, the cute face of my to-be-son/daughter made me bold and kept me dreaming about that one day when he/she steps into this world.
As our law of the land prohibits from determining the sex of the baby, it was also an added excitement as I didn't know if it was a boy or a girl till the birth. Meanwhile, I also developed one more problem ie, lack of sufficient fluid.
Because of these technicalities, my doctor recommended to have an induced delivery before 2 weeks of my proposed date. I was admitted to the hospital on a very fine early morning. My induction started in the morning itself. However, even after 2nd time, the contractions were not fine. Also, there were signs of the baby getting disturbed due to the lack of fluid. At this point, we had to take a call and as the doctor also suggested, we decided to go on with a C-section.
Finally by evening, my little boy was born. The very important lesson I learned after my C-Section is that you have to get up and stand on your feet at the earliest possible. The lazier you are, the tougher it will be to get up.
