(Unkown)
My water broke at 5:30 am, so we headed to the hospital. I was eleven days past my due date. We arrived at the hospital at 6:00 am, and they set up the IV and fetal monitors. A few hours later the epidural was set, although with great difficulty, and it eventually came out and I started to feel the contractions. During the labor I spiked a fever, so when my baby was born just before 3:00 pm that afternoon, they had a neonatologist in the delivery room. It turned out that he had a strep-B infection, and they should have tested me for it during my prenatal visits.
My baby boy had to stay a week in the hospital while they administered antibiotics to him, and I traveled to him daily so he could nurse. He recovered from the infection, and we were able to nurse past his first birthday, so all turned out well. That is my birth story.
