My jeans didn't start hurting my belly until 16 weeks pregnant, and I was having twins. I guess it really depends on how big you are before you get pregnant.
I was already a big woman wearing plus size clothes. But around the 16th week of pregnancy is when I would start to feel slight pain in my abdomen after sitting for at least 30 minutes with my pants fastened. Before I went up a size I just started undoing the button and unzipping them before sitting down. I could do that at work too because I had my own private office.
That didn't work for long though. Within a few weeks I had to buy my first pair of plus size maternity jeans. They were so comfortable on my stomach that I was upset I waited so long to buy them. So if you were dreading wearing maternity clothes like me, then don't. Once your belly starts growing, wearing clothes that fit and allow room for growth really is the best thing for you and the baby.
The plus size maternity clothes were expensive but there are some inexpensive alternatives. You can shop on Ebay, Craigslist, consignment stores, and yard sales. But I personally chose to buy my stuff online using coupons. That way you get to pick out the styles you like the best and if they don't fit right then you can return or exchange them with no hassle. So when your jeans start to hurt your belly, buy some new ones right away!
