My First Signs of Twin Pregnancy

What were my first signs of twin pregnancy? Women ask me that all of the time. I was ashamed to talk about it at first but I conceived my twins by in vitro fertilization. So I knew quite early in my pregnancy.

There are so many women who have fertility issues and do not want to talk about it with their family, friends, coworkers or strangers. Somehow shame and pity have been attached to our efforts to bring another life in to this world, which for most women comes naturally.

I felt like I was broken in some way for a long time. And I admit that those thoughts still haunt me at times. My femininity and womanhood were questioned because I had to have doctors and scientists assist me in accomplishing an act that happens by accident to other women every single day all over the world. And who was the one doing the questioning you might ask? Me!

Even sitting here writing this my eyes are filling up with tears. It may be my first signs of twin pregnancy hormones in play, but I believe it goes much deeper. I really wish I didn't have to get pregnant this way but I am ecstatic that I am carrying two beautiful babies. God bless all of you woman who have conceived naturally. You were spared an emotional trip that no woman wants or likes to take.
