Is Taking Phentermine during pregnancy Safe

Is taking phentermine during pregnancy safe? I have been taking phentermine in order to help me lose weight and I also have an irregular period. So right now my menstrual cycle would be 6 days late if I had a normal one to start with.

I think my body is just whacky and it likes to get my hopes up for no reason. The most late I have been in my life was actual 24 DAYS! I have been doing so well with losing weight that I really don't want to stop for up to two weeks for nothing, but I don't want to hurt my baby either if I am indeed pregnant.

Has anyone ever taken this drug by accident or on purpose when you're were pregnant? If so, what happened?

I took diet pills when I was pregnant NEW

I took weight loss pills in the beginning of my pregnancy before I found out. My son was born without any problems but I was not losing weight. That's why I went to the doctor because I thought that I had a thyroid problem or something.

The diet pills were prescribed by my doctor before I got pregnant. But once I found out that I was carrying from my OB I stopped taking them immediately. In my opinion, that is the best thing to do for your baby. You could worry about your weight after the baby comes out.

I wouldn't NEW

I am not a doctor, but I wouldn't take phentermine or any other weight loss drug if I knew that I was pregnant. These drugs have so many side effects that you cannot know for sure if you are not doing any damage to the fetus. Even if the doctor told you okay and then when your baby was born they had a problem, then what? You could sue the doctor, maybe, but what about your baby's life? That is priceless, don't you think?

Plus ALL women are supposed to gain some weight during pregnancy no matter what size you currently are. You should not be attempting to lose weight right now. Just start eating healthier foods and go for 30 or 45 minute walks. You may even find that you lose weight naturally doing these things while still giving your growing baby the nutrients he or she needs to develop properly.
