I had pregnancy food cravings at 5 weeks pregnant. I didn't have any of the other symptoms this soon but I definitely remember that I had to have meat. Not just any meat, but I wanted a steak from Outback Steakhouse and I was gonna get it. I drove almost an hour away in order to get a ribeye steak and an order of bloomin' onions.
It was delicious! I was pregnant with twins and I could pretty much say that I ate more meat during those eight months (they were preemies) than I have in all my life. I did get healthier and had differently prepared varieties of chicken and a salad, but I had to have a good portion of meat every day.
I didn't get any of those crazy cravings like ice cream and pickles. I also ate a lot of eggs because that twas the quickest thing to cook at any time. But be careful. By the end of my pregnancy I had developed gallstones. Once I delivered the babies the attacks became clearer, the pain became greater, and the gallstone attacks lasted longer. I never had that problem before. I ended up needed surgery to have my gallbladder removed. It may be a coincidence, but I think it was directly related to my diet during pregnancy.
