I am 29 weeks pregnant with a lot of back pain that started recently. It hurts when I stand up for a long period of time, and right now 20 minutes is a long time. My stamina is completely zapped when it comes to any physical activity at the moment.
Even sitting for long periods of time is getting difficult. I work sitting down at a desk most of the day. I find myself needed to shift positions, take a little walk, or lay back in the chair as far as it will go every 20 to 30 minutes. I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to keep this up. And I am not due for another 11 weeks!
What does help is placing a pillow behind my back for support. Somehow that cushion resting on my lower back helps take some of the pressure off. But the only time I am totally back ache free is when I am laying down on my side at home. That's also when my baby does the most moving too. My doctor told me to let her know when I found my job too much to handle and she would put me on bedrest. But I do I really want that? What would I do all day long? My nursery isn't even finished yet. Who will do all of the shopping for me?
I will stick it out as long as possible and keep my OB informed with what's going on with my body and the baby. Hopefully I can keep working for another 4 to 6 weeks. We need the money.
