How many weeks am I now?

How many weeks am I now? The first day of my last menstrual period was November 27, 2009. I currently do not have any medical insurance but I have scheduled an appointment at the free clinic by my house. Since my cycle has always been unpredictable I really didn't think much about the fact that I may be pregnant. It wasn't until I started noticing my nipples were hurting for a while and still no period. So I took a pregnancy test and it came up positive!

I am very excited and scared at the same time. I'm working right now but the pay sucks. Me and the father were not really a couple in the first place so I don't know how he's going to react to the news. When it comes to money he is still living with his moms and does not have a job. So this baby will definitely not be born with a silver spoon in its mouth. But I'll find a way to make it work somehow. This is my baby after all.

But since I won't see a doctor for another few weeks is there any way to know now how far along I am? What is my due date?

You really can't be sure NEW

You really can't be sure how far along you are if you don't have normal, regular cycles. It doesn't have to be 28 days like clockwork each month, but it should at least be within the same few days of each other each time for you to get a somewhat correct calculation of what your due date is.

You probably won't know for sure until you get your first fetal ultrasound. That is when they can compare the size of your baby with the fetal age of other babies at that same week of gestation. That is a very good way to tell "how old your baby is", so to speak. The doctor will probably suggest it sooner rather than later in your case.
