How far along am I based on my due date

How far along am I based on my due date?

I took a home pregnancy test this morning and it had a faint positive. I have taken many pregnancy tests before and it was always a strong negative, if there is such a thing. So I am pretty sure that I am pregnant this time. But when I try to figure out how many weeks pregnant I am according to the first day of my last menstrual period my due date is October 5, 2010. But that can't be true.

The calculator said that my conception date was January 12th, but I didn't have sex that day? Should I trust this predictor or wait to see what my OB has to tell me?

The conception date is just an estimate NEW

The conception date calculation is just an estimate. It could be a few days off. Sperm can live up to 72 hours inside of you as well. So the sperm could have been hanging around waiting for your egg to be released. Or maybe your cycle was a little off that month and you actually got pregnant before or after that date.

Really all of the dates they give you when your pregnant are estimates. Most women don't have their baby on that magical day anyway. The best thing to do is to just plan for the baby to come any time within those two weeks, which is more realistic and eases the mind. Your baby will still be considered full term.
