Finally I was so happy to have a baby boy

It was May 2007, when I usually woke up with a headache and naucious feeling, after a week, when this became a routine, I decided to consult my doctor. I had a glimpse of me being pregnant in my dreams but I wan not exactly sure about it. But that day my doctor confirmed me that I am pregnant with 1 month and I was to have my delivery somewhere between January - February 2008.

Now me being from an orthodox family, had to work for the whole day in house. Right from cooking food to washing utensils. My husband decided to reduce the work load on me, but my mother in law suggested me to keep doing all the things that I do in a normal fashion. Though I was quite stunned by her suggestion and thought that what king of evil human being she is, but then I had to follow her instructions.

Time passed and gradually the winters were approaching. I regularly visited the doctor and everything was so very normal. During this period, I consulted many of my elder friends and well wishers. I was scared to hear about the complexities at times of child birth, the health problems and the post birth effects on mother's body. Some told me about their hair fall problems, some narrated me the story of the stretch marks in and around their abdomen, while others complained about the non periodic menstruation cycle.

It was January and finally I was admitted to the hospital. I was later told that my case was very easily handled by the doctors, and unlike the other sezaryen deliveries mine was a completely natural one.

After few days, I was discharged from the hospital and came home. To my surprise, all my labor pains were vanished within one week of my delivery which was quite contrary to the stories narrated to me by my friends.

I finally looked back in time and concluded that I was not facing all the post birth complications because my mother in law made me work as per my normal routine. I later found on the internet that in developed countries, the children are born with complications and they have a higher risk of getting infected. That happens because, when they are detected with pregnancy, the ladies are given a very high comfort level, very rich food, which they otherwise never had. So this sudden transformation in their routine makes them more lethargic and thus they do not follow a specific routine.

Finally, I would give you certain tips which really helped me to become a healthy mom-

1. Do not disturb your daily routine.
2. During pregnancy period if you increase the intake of some specific foods like fats, etc. Do it very gradually. Do not abuse your body by giving it high quantities of vitamins and minerals all of a sudden. It is not ready for it.
3. Avoid Procrastination - Do not be lethargic, sleep for 7-8 hours only not more than that.
4. Keep yourself mostly on liquid or semi liquid diets.
5. Keep your mood happy. It is now scientifically proven that if you stay happy and positive during the pregnancy period, your child and you will be very healthy.

So lastly I would suggest you to follow these instructions during the pregnancy period, so that your child is born healthy, and you become the healthier mother after delivery.
