Can implantation happen after a missed period

Can implantation happen after a missed period?

I have had irregular periods all of my life. My cycles have been anywhere from exactly 28 days to the maximum of 56 days. That is a total of 8 weeks between periods! It is so frustrating when I have one of my longer cycles because I am left guessing if I am pregnant or not for a long time.

I drive myself crazy and every little change that goes on with my body I associate it with a possible pregnancy. Many times early pregnancy symptoms are very similar to menstrual cycle symptoms. So what do I do? Go out and buy a pregnancy test that always shows negative.

But this time is a little different. It has been 37 days since my last cycle and I am spotting. It is lighter than my normal flow in color and actual discharge amount. This happened throughout yesterday and today it's only a trace of blood. If this is implantation bleeding I know it's still a little early for the home pregnancy tests to give me a positive, but could I be pregnant?

It is definitely possible for implantation to occur after you have a missed period if your periods are irregular in the first place. You should start to have some other early pregnancy symptoms first before you spend your money on another test, in my opinion.

I have PCOS (polycistic ovarian syndrome) and I go through many months of thinking I'm pregnant only to be disappointed. I hope it work out the way you want though.
