6 Weeks into Pregnancy

If you are only 6 weeks into pregnancy can you tell if you are carrying twins? I just took a home pregnancy test and it came up positive. Twins run in my family and I really wish I am having two babies. Anyone know how soon you can tell if you have 2 babies growing inside of you?

It is possible but not likely NEW

It is possible to know if you are pregnant with twins at 6 weeks. My fertility specialist was able to see two black dots on the monitor when I was 6 weeks. He said that they usually aren't visible until the 7th week but we both clearly saw two separate "dots" on the screen. That was the most beautiful thing I had ever saw, until I saw the next ultrasound that is.

If you became pregnant unassisted, or the natural way, then you probably wouldn't know that quickly. Most women don't see the doctor the same week that they discover they're pregnant. And even after the doctor confirms that you are with child you aren't scheduled for an ultrasound until weeks after that point. So when you do get your chance to lie on the table and see what's going on in your belly you will probably hear two heartbeats and see two fetuses.
