10 to 2 jobs for moms

Are there any 10 to 2 jobs for moms out there. I am a stay at home mom and my little boy will be going to school soon. I just found out that I was pregnant and I would love to try to make some extra money before the new baby comes.

We are really financially strapped. Times are tough and my husband is already working two jobs. We always planned on me being home with the kids but he has went from making $80,000 a year at one job to only making $60,000 working TWO! I really want to be able to help him out.

I tried selling some of my homemade crafts on etsy.com but that is not steady income, nor is it enough to make a dent in any of my bills or expenses. If I could find some work that I could do from home or a 10-til-2 job that would be awesome. Any homemakers successfully making a buck? Please tell me what you do.

Try RQA.com NEW

You should apply to work for this company called RQA.com. This stand for Retail Quality Assurance. They are a national company in the U.S. and they also have one in Canada.

Basically what you do is retrieve products for large companies as an independent contractor. It is similar to a courier, but you would pick up the product and ship it back to the company as per their instructions. It can be sporadic work depending on the season, but they pay $12 an hour.

The benefit is that you can work these jobs between 10 to 2 for the most part. Even though you call and schedule a time with the consumer for pick up 9 times out of 10 you can pick up the product that will fit in your schedule too. Sometimes they have mystery shopping jobs as well and those you could definitely do while the kids are at school. I also try to fit some in on the weekends when my husband can watch the kids for a few hours, if I'm lucky.

You won't get rich doing this but you could make some extra money without a lot of 9 to 5 job restrictions. Since you are not officially an employee there are no health benefits, and they also don't take taxes out of your pay. So you are responsible for paying your taxes yourself. It is worth it though.

Have you thought about being a school bus driver NEW

Have you though about being a school bus driver? I know a few mom who have done this job. It isn't the exact hours you were looking for but many of the companies allow you to bring your child along with you. It is a good way to make some extra money, and the pay rates aren't too bad either.

I've tried selling Avon but I'm just not a salesperson at heart, so I'm not doing too well. I only have so many friends and relatives to sell to, and then I'm left trying to hard sel to strangers. That makes me very uncomfortable. I am looking for work myself. I would also try the school bus operator position but my little one is still in an infant seat. Maybe when she gets a little older. But I hope you find something soon.
